Privacy Policy

Andy Townsend Photography is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you in respect of how I manage your Personal Information.

I have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs govern the way in which I collect, use, disclose, store, secure and dispose of your Personal Information. A copy of the Australian Privacy Principles may be obtained from the website of The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.aoic.gov.au.

  • improve customer service – your information helps me to more effectively respond to your customer service requests and support needs

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your Gravatar profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit my client login page, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data, and WordPress will discard it when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. The system will remove the login cookies if you log out of your account.

WordPress will save an additional cookie in your browser if you edit or publish an article. This cookie includes no personal data and indicates the post ID of the article you just edited, and it expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (eg videos, images, articles, etc). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor has visited that website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content.

Who do I share your data with?

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested.

If you request a password reset, I’ll include your IP address in the reset email.

How long do I retain your data?

I will retain your personal information on my systems for as long as necessary.

If you leave a comment, I retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. Keeping the metadata means I can automatically recognise and approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profiles. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username) and website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights do you have over your data?

You may have certain rights under data protection law concerning the personal information I hold about you. In particular, you may have a right to:

  • request a copy of personal information I hold about you
  • ask that I update the personal information I hold about you or independently correct such personal information that you think is incorrect or incomplete
  • request that I delete personal information that I hold about you from live systems or restrict how I use such personal information (this does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes)
  • object to my processing of your personal data
  • withdraw your consent to my processing of your personal information (to the extent such processing is based on consent and consent is the only permissible basis for processing).

If you would like to exercise these rights or understand if these rights apply to you, please follow the instructions at the end of this Privacy statement.

Where do I send your data?

I use an automated spam detection service called Akismet (https://akismet.com/) to check visitor comments. When you place an order, I use Stripe (https://stripe.com) to process your credit card details.
